<div itemprop="description">Our brother Fr. Jim MacGillivray, CC, died on April 5th 2017 surrounded by the prayers of his brother Companions of the Cross and many former parishioners and friends. Fr. Jim was born in Kingston on May 7, 1943. He was ordained to the priesthood for the Archdiocese of Kingston on May 17, 1969. He was the son of Frank MacGillivray and Vivian (Kelsey) MacGillivray and is survived by his sister Francine (Richard) Arsenault. Fr Jim was predeceased by brother Earl D. MacGillivray. He will be missed by his nieces and nephews: David (Lisa MacGregor) Arsenault, Kathleen Arsenault (Marc Lewis) Jamie Arsenault and by his great nieces and nephews: Nathaniel, Allesha, Dawson Arsenault, and Georgia Lewis Riley Arsenault<br><br>Fr. Jim most recently served as associate pastor at St. Maurice parish. He retired in 2014.<br><br>Fr. Jim joined the Community of the Companions of the Cross in 1999, making his temporary commitment. He made his lifetime commitment September 14, 2001 on the feast of the Triumph of the Cross. He has served in many capacities: parish priest, associate pastor, as a member of the formation team, Personnel Assistant to the Moderator, Director of Formation, and Director of Admissions. <br><br>Fr. Jim will lie in state at St. Maurice’s Church, 4 Perry St., Ottawa, ON Friday, April 7th after 5:30 pm followed by a Memorial Mass at 7:00pm and on Saturday, April 8th at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 490 Days Rd., Kingston, ON after 9:00 am followed by Funeral Mass at 10:30 am. Burial to take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Kingston. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kelly Funeral Home – Carling Chapel www.kellyfh.ca<br><br>Fr. Jim will be missed.
